Healing for Mind and Body
Specializing in Mindfulness Based Therapy, I work with adults addressing concerns such as Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Relationship Conflict, Job Dissatisfaction, Health and Weight Concerns, and Low Self Esteem. Knowing that a strong rapport is key to successful therapy, I work with each client to foster a relationship that encourages a greater level of self acceptance that leads to growth and change.
In combination with my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist & Health Coach. My approach to counseling is to focus on the whole person. I have found that true life satisfaction is obtained when health and wellness is brought to both the mind and body. By addressing mental health and physical health, I strive to assist my clients in achieving a healthier relationship with their entire being.
There are many reasons for seeking counseling, but the end goal is usually the same: to obtain greater happiness, internal peace, and more satisfaction personally and relationally. Whether seeking services for better mental health or physical health, we will work together to resolve the challenges you are facing that are withholding you from experiencing life in the way you desire: With Peace, Passion, and Purpose.
I received my Bachelors in Psychology (2005) and my Master of Education in Counseling (2009) from the University of North Texas. I have been in private practice since 2009. Prior to private practice I worked with children and adults at an art therapy center in Fort Worth. I obtained my license to supervise LPC-Associates in 2016. I received my certification as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Health & Wellness Coach with American Fitness Professionals and Associates in 2020.

Mindulness is defined by Jon Kabat-Zinn as
"the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally".
I have been studying and practicing Mindfulness and meditation for over a decade. I have found that the richest source of emotional healing happens when you are able to fully accept your feelings, your experience, and yourself. This type of healing is at the heart of Mindfulness. In my work with clients, we begin from a place of self acceptance through insight and compassion. From there we are able to move forward into needed areas of change personally and in relationships. We will focus on identifying what you need, want, and truly desire in your life in order to develop the confidence and skill necessary to create lasting change.
There is a tendency to think of the mind and body as separate entities, when in truth they are deeply connected. The impacts that emotional stress has on the physical body can range from fatigue to chronic illness. In the reverse, the way you treat your body not only dramatically influences your physical health but also your mental health, increasing symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and irritability (to name a few). My intention as a Nutritionist and Mental Health Therapist is to bridge this gap and address each of these critical aspects for complete wellness. Depending on your needs, we can tailor a nutritional plan to enhance the emotional work you do in session. It is my belief and experience that healing occurs more fully when balance is brought to both the mind and body.
